Both governmental and non-governmental organizations appoint social workers as their employees. The remuneration in this field will depend upon the organization in which one works for, their experience,skill,knowledge and the area of work. Even though there is no fixed pay scale for this profession, one could get an initial pay of Rs 4,000 to 5,000 per month depending on the organization. . Those in the field of teaching profession can have a pay scale of Rs. 7000 to 8000 per month. Those who are working with NGO's and Government projects can earn a monthly salary of Rs 8000 to Rs 10000. .

Students with a bachelor's degree often secure employment as research assistants, data analysts, case workers, paralegals, advertising managers and administrators. .

For Bachelor Degree Courses:

For admission in a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary school examination  (Std.XII) examination from a recognized board. The duration for bachelor's degree is three years.

For Master Degree Courses:

The eligibility criterion for pursuing a master’s degree is holding a graduation degree in any stream. The duration for master's degree is two years.
